Isotoxin provides basic chat features, over different protocols. You can use it to chat with other people and exchange files over a network or the Internet. The software's main advantage is the fact that its functionality is based on Tox, a free, highly encrypted messaging protocol. It may not look like much for some users, but the application will make your conversations private, so you don't have to worry about any digital surveillance.

The software is absolutely free and you can have it up and running on any popular Windows version. It takes only a few seconds to complete the installation process and you don't have to go through any complicated settings. Also, there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services and you don't have to sacrifice too many resources.

The user interface is laid out like that of many other modern instant messengers. You can add contacts in a column, on the left side of the window and chat with selected ones in the larger area on the right. It is also possible to create groups with people of your choice and chat with them in conference mode. Besides exchanging short text messages, voice chatting is another possibility. Additionally, you can include emoticons in your text messages and send or receive files.

As previously mentioned, Isotoxin lets you chat over a Tox protocol. What's more, the software allows you to chat over multiple networks at once. You can define new connections to LAN or Tox networks by filling in a series of input fields on a separate window. Established connections are displayed on the right side of the interface, where you can activate and deactivate them individually.

A simple and highly secure chatting experience is exactly what you can expect from Isotoxin.

Pros

You can chat with other people over LAN and Tox networks at the same time. The software lets you create groups, voice chat, exchange files and more.

Cons

Inexperienced users may have difficulties setting up their first connections.
